New enrolments are being enrolled into the newest version of the course. Certificate III in School Based Education SupportGenerally accepted as the industry standard for a Teacher Aide. When looking at job advertisements, the significant majority of schools will require a Teacher Aide to possess a Certificate III. The Certificate III will equip you with the skills and knowledge required to complete the broad range of tasks expected of a Teacher Aid. Certificate IV in School Based Education SupportMost students will complete the Certificate III before moving on to the Certificate IV. If you have relevant work experience or previous qualifications you may request to skip the Certificate III and commence at the Certificate IV level. The Certificate IV has more of an in-depth focus on working with children with learning difficulties, additional needs and disabilities. The Certificate III to Certificate IV Bridging programThe Certificate III & Certificate IV in School Based Education Support qualifications do have a lot of overlap. If you have completed the Certificate III in School Based Education Support, we do offer a bridging program across to the Certificate IV. This means that instead of completing an additional 17 units, you just complete the gaps between the Certificate III and the Certificate IV. Our bridging program will save you months of time spent on assessment and at only $1400* is an affordable way to upgrade your qualifications. Download the Bridging Program Course Outline *Prices will vary depending on the electives you have completed in your Cert III. Contact Adapt for a quote. Practical Placement – So many of our students gain employment as a result of their placement. It is a great learning experience and a chance to impress!
Note: many States have mandated that people completing a practical placement in certain industries (such as schools) must have received 2 doses of the COVID-19 vaccination. It is your responsibility to check the requirements of your State prior to enrolling and prior to commencing your practical placement.
Apart from being a crucial life skill, having up-to-date First Aid certification can improve your employability. You have the option of selecting HLTAID012 Provide first aid in an education and care setting as an elective unit within this course. Note: selecting this unit is not mandatory. You may book into an Adapt Education first aid course or you can complete it with any provider in Australia. Simply present your certificate to us on completion and we will credit the unit towards your Education Support course.
Some important points to consider if selecting HLTAID012 as an elective:
